“Play: Maximize every moment of aliveness.”*
I love the innate playfulness of animals. They instinctively live in the present and thus can capitalize on whatever opportunity arises. Even our almost seventeen year old cat Nac still plays with pens, pencils, binder clips, and an occasional cat toy. I enjoy her fascination with ordinary objects, her ability to see the world through playful eyes and heart, and her eager engagement with whatever each moment brings.
“Experience pleasurable involvement in all your activities and enjoy what you are doing.”
A playful mindset brings lightness to buoy anything and everything. Life invites you to play. In fact it sometimes plays with you until you cede to it. The entry to play and playful often comes through the urge to experience something new. It may come through an activity like my recent foray into coloring or it may come as an urge to travel.
I enjoyed myself more than I have in a long time when I attended my recent Embodied Energy Practitioner Training with Jill Leigh, Founder of the Energy Healing Institute. During the course I reconnected to my sense of humor, comfortable enough in my skin to show my silly side, and I laughed until I cried more than once. I didn’t arrive with fun as an agenda, strategy, or expectation but I observed how performance anxiety evaporated when laughter accompanied our “work.”
In Jin Shin Jyutsu® acupressure, Safety Energy Lock (SEL) 15 connects to joy and laughter.
SEL 15 also supports everything in the physical body, improves focus, and helps generate new ideas. When you think about it, laughter heals, focus contributes to happiness, and new ideas allow you to dream and manifest joyful changes.
What prompts you to step away from work? How do you incorporate play and playfulness into your life?

A sense of adventure allows you to embrace the unknown and open to what's possible. Release agendas and holding, be curious, and absorb life's richness.
Presence means you embody and empower your authentic self. When you let go of any facade created to make yourself look better to yourself or to others, you liberate yourself.
